How far in advance can I book?
The available booking window depends on the route and ticket product. Use the dates currently enabled in search and check popular holiday periods early.
What does the displayed price include?
The search price is the total for the adult and child counts you selected and the displayed seat option. Review the currency, order total and any listed charges before paying. Prices through an independent booking service can differ from railway-direct prices; availability and the final amount are rechecked when the order is created.
How will my ticket be delivered?
Once your ticket has been issued, check your booking email and secure order for the ticket and its boarding or collection instructions. Payment confirmation is a separate stage. If the ticket is missing, check spam and the order status; contact support with your booking number and departure time if you need help.
Can I use another station in the same city?
Do not assume so. Tokyo, Shinagawa and Shin-Yokohama are different stops, and Osaka Station is not Shin-Osaka. Use the station shown on the ticket.
What counts as oversized luggage?
On the Tokaido, Sanyo and Kyushu Shinkansen, bags measuring over 160 cm and up to 250 cm in total generally require a seat with a designated oversized-baggage arrangement. Add length, width and height, including wheels and handles. Request the arrangement with an eligible fare and check the ticketing confirmation. Other lines and special items may have different rules.
